Keeping our big, beautiful Church clean and neat is a labor of love for the many men and women who serve our parish on the cleaning teams. There are twelve different teams, one for each month. Each team consists of 6-10 parishioners. When their assigned month comes, that team cleans the Church once a week (mostly four, but occasionally five days in that month, which makes this a commitment of ONLY 4 or 5 times a YEAR). It takes on average an hour and a half each time the group cleans. Each team picks the day and time that works best for them. Some teams clean together as a group, and some divide up the responsibilities and clean separately as individuals or couples, cleaning during the time of his or her own choosing. Some meet during the day, and some meet at night. There are many different kinds of jobs that we do, some require a little more stamina than others, like vacuuming. But there are always things to be done that don’t require a lot of physical exertion (like light dusting or picking up cheerios on the pews). As the years roll by, we are always in need of workers who can replace the very dedicated elderly parishioners who have served faithfully for years, but now are wanting to enjoy a well-deserved “retirement”. Many hands make light the work, and we would welcome anyone that wants to come and be a part of a team — men or women. Please consider serving the parish in this way so that we can keep our Church looking beautiful. We provide all the equipment and cleaning supplies you will need.
