What do you have for Children?
CCD stands for Confraternity for Christian Doctrine. The term refers to an organization of the Church in Rome founded in 1562. but its roots go back to the earliest days of Christianity. In the CCD ministry, our 1st through 8th graders attend catechesis session, Holy Mass, and other activities aimed at expanding their knowledge of the Catholic faith and inspiring them to be lifelong active members of the Catholic Church.
CCD also provides Sacramental Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist (2nd Grade) and Confirmation (8th Grade).
CCD session are held at St. Ann Parish at the former St. Ann School on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Please call the parish office (419-334-2638) for more information.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
During the school year, children from Kindergarten through second grade who attend the 10:30 a.m. Mass can participate in Children's Liturgy of the Word. Catechists lead the children in hearing the readings for the day and doing related activities while the adults hear the day's readings and homily at Mass.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held in early June every year. Children from Sacred Heart, St. Joe's and St. Ann's learn about specific Bible verses along with a theme. There are crafts, games, stories, prayer and snack.
